Torchwood Season Four Could Have More International Plot…

As we already know. Torchwood hit big last year with the fantastic Children Of Earth mini series, and the Doctor Who spin-off’s popularity is continuing to grow, especially in America.

However, could this mean that future seasons of Torchwood may be set partly in both UK and USA?

According to a source over at the Outpost Skaro message boards, the above is just one of the ideas that is being looked into by the BBC with a view to the fourth season of the hit UK science fiction series.

“Cashing in on the series popularity stateside, one of the suggested ideas is a twisty turny time travel tale which will include the appearance of a few sci-fi luminaries including Nathan Fillion as another Time Agent, Brent Spiner as ‘a senator’ and the return of James Marsters as Captain John.”

Of course, as Outpost Skaros source reiterates, this is all still at the talking phase, and as such remains to be confirmed.

“Nothing’s confirmed and, of course, take it with a pinch of salt, but this is definitely being considered. It would be filmed partly in London (well, Cardiff) and partly in America.”

Doctor Who star David Tennant 'backs Gordon Brown'

Doctor Who actor David Tennant, who made his final appearance as the Time Lord earlier this month, has backed Gordon Brown as Prime Minister.

"I would still rather have Gordon Brown than David Cameron," Tennant told the latest edition of Doctor Who magazine.

"I would rather have a prime minister who is the cleverest person in the room, than a prime minister who looks good in a suit."

"I think David Cameron is a terrifying prospect," added the 38-year-old star.

The Scottish actor, a long-term Labour supporter who appeared in a party political broadcast in 2005, likened the Conservative leader to "a regional newsreader who will jump on whatever bandwagon flies past".

"I get quite panicked at the notion that people are buying his rhetoric, because it seems very manipulative to me."

"Clearly, the Labour Party is not without some issues right now and I do get frustrated. They need to sort some stuff out, but they are still a better bet than the Tories."

The Conservatives declined to comment.

Tennant's exit from the long-running BBC sci-fi show was watched by more than 10 million people on New Year's Day

He is being replaced on the show by actor Matt Smith, 27, who made his debut as the 11th Doctor in Tennant's final show, ahead of a new series in the spring.

Weetabix Box Game – Doctor Who 1977

The game and gameplay
In the 1970s when Doctor Who was all the rage and Tom Baker's teeth and curls dominated our television sets and our minds, Weetabix Cereal took the initiative and added Doctor Who to one of their many board game promotions.
Editor's note: with absolutely no apologies for linking to this strange forum, I thought it only appropriate to give readers the chance to get their own copy of this vintage board game!

All one had to do was collect all the boxes with the four game board pieces; Race Through Space, Travel Through Time, Discover the Lost Planet and escape from the Underworld along with the plethora of game pieces that featured our favorite aliens and monsters.
For a dice game, the play is rather simple. First a single die is required. Second, the four board game pieces link together to form the TARDIS console in the center of the game board. This is the home section for the game.

Cheap Way For BBC – Christmas Invasion

It has been brought to my attention that the bbc were cutting down on costs when i saw something quite funny about the Christmas invasion episode. When they are talking about blood types and using the computer to see what blood type each of the people who were being controlled was, the program they are using is just a DVD that the BBC has made because they are using Cyberlink PowerDVD to play it. I've attached some screenshots showing it.

The John Baker Tapes Vols.1 & 2

Fans of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop and experimental electronica, get these while you can! Here we have two absolute must-own collections of rare and previously unreleased music from Radiophonic Workshop legend John Baker. Goodies include full-length tracks, radio jingles and all manner of weird and wonderful sounds. If you've ever heard the brilliant Raymond Scott collection Manhattan Research Inc. and enjoyed it, then The John Baker Tapes makes a perfect companion piece as it is in a very similar vein.
A bit of info on John Baker:
John Baker (1937–1997) was a musician and composer who worked in jazz and electronic music. He was educated at the Royal Academy of Music where he studied piano and composition. In 1960 he joined the BBC as a sound mixer, before transferring, in 1963, to the BBC Radiophonic Workshop where he remained until 1974. He was the most prolific of the early Workshop composers, developing a trademark style, creating music by manipulating tapes of everyday sounds such as blowing across the top of an empty bottle. A rare snippet of Baker at work was included in the 1968 documentary film Music, which more famously featured the Beatles working on Hey Jude in the studio. A jazz pianist, he brought a sense of rhythm to the Workshop which some of the other more mathematical composers lacked. His work included many signature tunes for BBC television and radio. He was also particularly interested in combining recorded electronic music with live musicians.
Baker's private life was affected by alcoholism, which led to his 'retirement' from the Radiophonic Workshop in 1974. He produced very little work thereafter.

Russell Tovey to join 'Torchwood' team?

Russell Tovey to join 'Torchwood' team?

John Barrowman has hinted that Russell Tovey is in line to join the Torchwood team.

The pair recently starred alongside each other in the Doctor Who Christmas special when Captain Jack and Alonso Frame met for the first time.

Speaking to Doctor Who magazine, Barrowman described Tovey's character as "the perfect companion" for Jack.

"What I'd love, what I think would be great, is if Midshipman Frame became Jack's companion in Torchwood. He's the perfect companion for Jack.

"It'd be like Batman and Robin. Of course I'm Batman. He's Robin."

Torchwood third series, which aired in July last year, saw fan favourite Ianto Jones killed off in the penultimate episode, leaving just Captain Jack and Eve Myles's Gwen on the team.

Barrowman, Tovey 'have great chemistry'

John Barrowman and Russell Tovey have claimed that they found it easy to work together on Doctor Who.

Speaking to Doctor Who Magazine, the pair suggested that they had a natural on-screen chemistry in the Who Christmas special.

"You don't have to think about it much," Barrowman said. "I can tell that Russell is probably flirtatious in real life."

Tovey added: "It's in the writing as well, isn't it? The dialogue between us is only four lines, but you know that Captain Jack and Midshipman Frame are flirting outrageously."

The Being Human star added that he was impressed by Barrowman and found him "very professional".

Is There A Link Between The Weeping Angels & Time Lords? Doctor Who

When The Time lords appeared on earth during The End Of Time Part 2, there where 2 Time Lords covering their faces like the Weeping Angels.
At 36 minutes in - Rassilon says The vote is taken, Only two stand against, and will stand as monument to their shame, Like the Weeping Angels of old.
So could there be a link? Perhaps The Weeping Angels evolve into Time Lords? Or are Time Lord outcasts? Or are some way related?
