Doctor Who Up for Two NTAs

Doctor Who has been shortlisted in two categories for this year's National Television Awards. The winners will be announced at a ceremony later this month with Matt Smith nominated for Best Performance for his role as the Time Lord and Doctor Who up for Best Drama.

This means that the final round of voting has begun. Doctor Who has performed well at the NTAs in previous years, but there's tough competition in 2011. Dermot O'Leary will present the award ceremony which takes in London on Wednesday, January 26.

Berrington, Schiller for new 'Doctor Who'

Elizabeth Berrington and Adrian Schiller have signed on to play guest roles in the next series of Doctor Who.

Schiller's Spotlight page confirms that he will play a character known as Uncle in a future episode, while Berrington's CV at United Agents has also been updated to include the role of Auntie.

Schiller previously played the recurring role of the psychic Hennessey in Being Human and made a guest appearance in the second series of Ashes To Ashes. He will also star in the forthcoming remake of Brighton Rock.

Waterloo Road actress Berrington previously starred in ITV comedy Moving Wallpaper and also appeared in five episodes of Psychoville.

The pair will appear in an installment directed by Richard Clark, who previously helmed the episodes 'Gridlock' and 'The Lazarus Experiment'.
