Petition for the rest of Doctor Who on DVD

Melody, aka Thumper, one of our two contributors Fantasy & Science Fiction, sent me a petition made by the team of Beans on Toast a French edition of Season 4 of Doctor Who . Indeed, we are not spoiled with the previously released DVD box sets. No bonus is available, not to mention the absence of the English version for season 3.When we know that the followers of series attach great importance to the OV, one can understand the disappointment.

This petition aims to show major France Television Distribution, publisher and distributor of DVD box sets of Doctor Who, there is in the francophone world a real fan base and growing popularity for this series and so many potential buyers.

This series also handle real myth is indeed a success of historic hearing, between 30 and 50% market share, and its longevity is unmatched.

But for these DVD sets are purchased, we require a minimum of respect for buyers, in fact refrain from proposing the original version (English) for the Season 3 box set, propose a cut version 4 / 3 on Season 1, add to this the absence of special episodes essential to the plot and you get a commercial result distressing but predictable ...

Indeed, the French fans of Doctor Who following the series of media (iplayer, bbc, etc) that make them demanding in content and therefore of value for money.

As contemporary consumers, we are sensitive to the English version of the series, a version uncensored episodes (format export, due to the BBC though) and especially in respect of the work.

Do not edit some special episodes is primarily a lack of respect for the work and its fans but also unwise business decision.

Because if the fans are demanding that world, we are also realistic, we do not ask a DVD as comprehensive as its British edition, but simply to watch this series and discover a whole and in ordinary conditions.

That is the reason for our petition which seeks above all to show you that yes, fans of this world are many, but before anything we are sensitive to product quality and that it is prior to any purchase.

Personally, what really bothers me is the absence of special episodes, which are important to the plot. These are the link between the seasons and without them, it's hard to follow, although this is not vital to understand the episodes.

Obviously, we must be honest, it is unlikely that France Television resume production of DVDs, but you never know. There remains the possibility of obtaining the beautiful English boxes, but there is unfortunately no sub-TITTRE French.
