Doctor Who Podcast Episode 18: "The Girl Who Waited" Every year, the "bottle episode" of Doctor Who is approached with a mixture of both anticipation and dread by Whovians. For those not in the know, a "bottle episode" is an industry term for a "scaled back production" (read "cheap") that usually appears later on in a series' after all the money has already been spent, usually on the series finale. Despite such budget constraints, the spirit of creativity in the face of adversity has lead to a surprising number of innovative and ingenious gems over the years, such as fan favorites like "Midnight" and "Blink". It has also given us "Love and Monsters", which was pants. Where does Series Six's "bottle episode" fit on this spectrum? Join Eric Mendoza Lindsay Wood, Beverly Brown and Derek Gladu as we review "The Girl Who Waited". Play it here.
Telos AM Ep. 18: Bad girls, bogeymen, and other stories They're back! After what will hopefully prove to be the last of the extreme technical woes, Alex, Nick, and Lindsey find themselves back in the chatseat chatting about the best show on telly. But don't worry, they don't talk about Corrie THAT much. No! Instead, you get a bumber episode that includes TWO entire episodes that the gang recorded. In the first, Lindsey and Alex cast their critical gaze on Let's Kill Hitler and Night Terrors. Nick then joins Alex to discuss the unexpectedly heart-rending The Girl Who Waited. Play it here.
Krynoid Podcast 024: Resurrection of the Daleks "Hello boys. Just in time for the fun!" This time around Jim and Martin give the Krynoid treatment to Peter Davison's 1984 outing Resurrection of the Daleks. Yes, those dreaded pepperpots are back, this time looking for help from their creator, but Davros isn't playing ball. Listen in as we solve the problem of the disappearing Dalek, discuss the (in)competence of a certain mechanical engineer, consider the toilet habits of Rodney Bewes and try to make sense of a convoluted and hole-ridden plot. Oh, and there's some hilarious death scenes as well...lots of them. Play it here.
The Whostorian Episode 14 - Come Along Bitey Episode 14 starts as usual with the Motes of News and then the Villain Randomizer calls forth Sil for us. Following that Shannon & Steve talk about the penultimate episode of Season 6: Closing Time Play it here.
The Cultdom Collective Commentary: Closing Time Ian, Dave & Mike throw the covers over the counters before getting locked in on this weeks Commentary - Doctor Who - Closing Time. Play it here.
Pharos Project 69: Are You Being Assimilated? This week, the Projecteers are joined by Martyn from The Bad Wiff Podcast, as they struggle to find something to say about "Closing Time". Also (to pad out time) they discuss the current state of the BBC, action figure news and the marketing genius of semi-popular hand puppet Sooty. Play it here.
